Patrol Lieutenant

Compensation: $65,338 annually or higher DOQ, w/Benefits (Employer paid Health, Dental, Vision, Life, & FreshBenies with TMRS participation @ 2:1)

 

Education: Sixty college hours in Criminal Justice with an average of 2.0 in a 4.0 grading system or 1200 TCOLE approved training hours; associate's degree in the field of Criminal Justice preferred; eight years total law enforcement patrol experience or five years patrol experience with the Lake Worth Police Department.

 

Requirements: Must pass background check, medical examination, polygraph, psychological and/or drug screen if required by the City of Lake Worth and/or the State of Texas; valid Class C Texas driver license; valid TCOLE Intermediate Peace Officer Certification (Advanced Certification preferred).

 

Description: Enforces Federal, State and Local laws and ordinances under general direction and as outlined by departmental policies and procedures.  Performs various duties to support law enforcement activities as well as provide service to the citizens in an efficient and professional manner.  Assists and directs patrol officers and telecommunication personnel as needed.  Performs administrative duties as assigned by the Police Chief.  Serves as Police Captain in the absence of the Police Captain and fills in for Sergeants as needed.  This position supervises the Patrol Division of the Police Department.

Street Maintenance Worker

Department: Public Works

Compensation: $13.46 per hour or higher DOQ w/Benefits (Employer paid Health, Dental, Vision, Life, & FreshBenies with TMRS participation @ 2:1)

Education & Experience: High School diploma or GED;  construction-related experience is preferred; experience with a backhoe, crack sealer, dump truck, front-end loader, and jackhammer is preferred.

 

Requirements: Must pass CCH background check, medical examination and drug screen; valid Class C Texas driver license.

Description: Performs work necessary for the maintenance and repair of city streets, parking lots, drainage facilities and right-of-ways.

Water/Sewer Technician

Compensation: $13.46 per hour or higher DOQ w/Benefits (Employer paid Health, Dental, Vision, Life, & FreshBenies with TMRS participation @ 2:1)

Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED: some construction related experience and plumbing knowledge is preferred; must be able to use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment used in the maintenance of water & sewer systems; basic knowledge of materials used in water & sewer systems.

 

Requirements: Must pass CCH background check, medical examination and drug screen; valid Class C Texas driver license.

Description: Performs work necessary for the maintenance and repair of water mains, fire hydrants, wells, pump stations and customer water and sewer service lines, lift stations and sewer mains ensuring all safety regulations are followed to maintain public health.

Patrol Officer

Department: The City of Lake Worth is currently accepting applications from veteran police officers for a full time Patrol Officer vacancy with a modified field training period.  Only police officers with an honorable status will be considered for this position.

 
Compensation: $21.30 to $25.96 per hour DOQ w/Benefits (Employer paid Health, Dental, Vision, Life, & FreshBenies with TMRS participation @ 2:1)

 

Education: HS Diploma or GED; must have current valid Texas Basic Officer Certification or approved equivalent as accepted by TCOLE.

Requirements: Must pass background check, medical examination, polygraph, psychological and/or drug screen if required by the City of Lake Worth and/or the State of Texas; valid Class C Texas driver license.

Firefighter (Part-time/Entry Level)

Department: Fire

 

Compensation: $12.00 per hour w/Freshbenies

 

Education: High School Diploma or GED; 18 years of age; TCFP Firefighter Basic Certification; Texas Health Department EMT Certification. 

 

Requirements: Must have valid Texas driver license and be able to obtain Texas Class B license within thirty days; must pass background check, medical examination, and drug screen; no more than three hazardous moving violations in last two years & NO license suspensions in past two years; completion and pass certificate from Tarrant County Regional Fire Academy's physical ability test within the past six months or must obtain within six months of date of hire.

 

Description: Performs participatory work of considerable difficulty in the administrative service division relating to  fire suppression, emergency medical, rescue and hazardous materials operations.
