Park Maintenance Worker

Department: Public Works

Compensation: $14.42 per hour or higher DOQ w/Benefits

Description: Performs work necessary for the maintenance and repair of all city parks and equipment therein.

Education: High School diploma or GED; knowledge of turf maintenance equipment and use of hand tools.

Additional Requirements: Valid Class C Texas driver license; must pass a medical examination, drug screen, and CCH background check.

Education: High School Diploma or GED; 18 years of age; TCFP Firefighter Basic Certification; Texas Health Department EMT Certification.


Requirements: Must have valid Texas driver license; must pass background check, medical examination, and drug screen; no more than three hazardous moving violations in last two years & NO license suspensions in past two years; completion and pass certificate from Tarrant County Regional Fire Academy's physical ability test within the past six months or must obtain within six months of date of hire.


Description: Performs participatory work of considerable difficulty in the administrative service division relating to  fire suppression, emergency medical, rescue and hazardous materials operations.

Purchasing Coordinator/Risk Manager

Department: Finance

Compensation: $23.11 to $24.04 per hour DOQ w/Benefits (Employer paid Health, Dental, Vision, & Life with TMRS participation @ 2:1)


Description: The purpose of this position is to implement the City's centralized procurement system and to arrange for the purchase of materials, supplies, equipment, and services for the City of Lake Worth.  This position will evaluate and process requisitions for goods and services and develop bid specifications and requests for proposals.  The incumbent will initiate, develop and oversee various contracts and administer encumbrances for capital improvement projects and other contracts.  Other duties include: processing purchase orders, maintaining vendor accounts, site administration for office supply accounts, administration of city surplus auctions and bidding processes.  Performs tasks on their own initiative and is expected to show the highest level of professional judgment.

Education: Work requires broad professional and technical knowledge of business administration, management, procurement, or purchasing.  Knowledge is normally acquired through four (4) years of college resulting in a Bachelor's Degree.

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities through experience would be; Two (2) years' experience in purchasing, two (2) years in municipal government environment.

Additional Requirements: Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP); and/or Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB); must pass Computerized Criminal History (CCH) background check, and drug screen as required by the City of Lake Worth.  A valid Class C Texas Driver license is required.

Patrol Officer

Department: The City of Lake Worth is currently accepting applications from police academy recruits who, upon graduation, will be eligible to become a Texas Police Officer.  Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of the police academy and the passing of the TCOLE licensing exam. 


Compensation: $21.30 to $25.96 per hour DOQ w/Benefits (Employer paid Health, Dental, Vision, Life, & FreshBenies with TMRS participation @ 2:1)


Education: HS Diploma or GED, Police Academy

Requirements: Must pass background check, medical examination, polygraph, psychological and/or drug screen if required by the City of Lake Worth and/or the State of Texas; valid Class C Texas driver license.


Description: Enforces federal, state, and local laws and ordinances under general direction.  Performs various duties to support law enforcement activities as well as provide service to the citizens in an efficient and professional manner.
